About Pelican Ride

What This Is

Pelican Ride is a free 3D browser game built around a famous AI prompt: “Generate an SVG of a pelican riding a bicycle.” You steer a white pelican on a beach cruiser down a seaside boardwalk, catch fish and unlock hats and scarves.

It is made by a small independent team working under the Pelican Ride name.

How It Was Built

Everything you see is generated in code with three.js: the sky, the waves, the bicycle and the bird. There are no image or 3D model files in the game.

The bicycle uses real numbers: 26 × 2.125 in tires, a 44-tooth chainring, an 18-tooth cog and a Sturmey-Archer style 3-speed hub. The pelican's legs and wings use inverse kinematics so the feet stay on the pedals and the wings stay on the handlebars.
